Focus ESL C18 is een veelzijdige uitvoerbare plank of wandgemonteerde elektrostatische middenkanaalluidspreker, die realisme in beeld brengt met een 18-inch brede XStat CLS elektrostatische transducer met de gedetailleerde beeldvormingsmogelijkheden van een Folded Motion-tweeter, samen met twee 6,5-inch woofers, geschikt voor diepe basreproductie tot 50Hz.
De schilders van de Nederlandse Gouden Eeuw produceerden foto-realistische meesterwerken 300 jaar voordat camera's werden uitgevonden. Ze hebben je aandacht geconcentreerd met behulp van een helder, buitenaards licht. Zelfs in hun meest intieme portretten trekt het meeslepende licht je aandacht.
Dit soort zintuiglijke focus is ook de sleutel tot realisme in je thuisbioscoop. Het is de taak van uw middenkanaalluidspreker om actie en dialoog aan uw scherm te verankeren. Het moet gedetailleerde hoogfrequente informatie reproduceren om de beeldvorming te versterken, en ook naadloos opgaan in de andere luidsprekers in uw surround-soundsysteem om u te omhullen met een realistische soundstage.
MartinLogan presenteert een nieuw meesterwerk van home cinema-realisme: de Focus ESL C18 Center Channel-luidspreker, een elektrostatische center-kanaalluidspreker die is ontworpen voor wandgemonteerde flexibiliteit.
Het doel is flexibiliteit en prestaties, en de Focus ESL C18 bereikt beide. De slanke, gebeeldhouwde behuizing is stevig geschoord, resonantievrij en goed uitgebalanceerd. Het is ontworpen om boven of onder uw scherm te worden gemonteerd. Heavy-duty wandmontagebeugelhardware is inbegrepen, en de innovatieve beugels zijn geschikt voor meerdere montagehoeken, zodat u de Focus ESL C18 direct op uw luisterpositie kunt richten voor een perfect uitgelijnde middenkanaalpresentatie.
De Focus ESL C18 is ook thuis op een plank of vloerstandaard. Schakel de handige akoestische contourschakelaar "On-Wall / Off-Wall" om de prestaties voor elke montagepositie onmiddellijk te optimaliseren. Deze functie past automatisch de respons aan om muurgrenzen te compenseren die de basweergave kunnen versterken of remmen. Het resultaat is kamervullende middenkanaalreproductie met levensechte full-range verve.

Wat de Focus ESL C18 tot een meesterwerk van middenkanaalontwerp en -techniek maakt, is zijn verrassende vermogen om aan de muur te worden bevestigd. En terwijl de Focus ESL C18 een diepte van slechts 9,6 inch heeft als hij plat op een muur wordt gemonteerd, zit hij boordevol technologie die de gedetailleerde audio levert die u van een superieure middenkanaalluidspreker verlangt.
Het 7,5 x 18-inch Curvilinear Line Source (CLS) elektrostatisch paneel, met zijn zachte horizontale curve, verbetert de uitvoer en breidt het omhullende spreidingspatroon in het middenbereik uit. Het ontwerp van de buitengrille komt overeen met het uiterlijk van de MicroPerf-stators en het opvallende AirFrame- mes dat te zien is op andere modellen in de Masterpiece ESL-serie, voor een verfijnde en gecoördineerde esthetiek van een thuistheatersysteem.
Sluit uw elektronica veilig en veilig aan met behulp van 5-Way audiofiele WBT-inbindpalen. Hun pure koperen verbindingsplaat is zeer geleidend en vrij van wervelstroomeffecten. Deze palen zijn geïsoleerd voor bescherming tegen schokken en volledig gedempt tegen trillingen. Ze geven u voldoende ruimte voor professionele professionele luidsprekeraansluitingen.
Vojtko Voiced, de geavanceerde cross-over in Focus ESL C18 voegt verbeterde middentonen helderheid toe aan deze kunstzinnige compositie. Zorgvuldig met de hand gebouwd met alleen de beste polypropyleencondensatoren en luchtkernspoelen, maakt de crossover gebruik van MartinLogan's gepatenteerde Vojtko-topologie voor verdwijnend lage vervorming en naadloze driver / ESL-integratie. Dit nauwkeurig afgestemde netwerk behoudt zelfs de meest microscopische sonische nuances terwijl de volledige dynamiek van elke bron wordt verwerkt.
Vlak achter het elektrostatische paneel, bevestigd in een uniek ontworpen behuizing, bevindt zich een exclusieve MartinLogan Folded Motion Tweeter. Het low-mass diafragma van de Folded Motion Tweeter minimaliseert vervorming, terwijl de korte excursielengte bliksemsnelle hoge frequentierespons versnelt. De 1 x 1,4-inch gevouwen bewegings-tweeter in de Focus ESL C18 middenkanaalluidspreker heeft een diafragmagebied van 5,25 x 1,75 inch. De gecombineerde prestatiekenmerken van het elektrostatische paneel en de gevouwen bewegingstweeter zorgen voor precisie en hyperrealistische voor-fase blending.
Dit soort midden- en hoogfrequente prestaties kan alleen worden ondersteund door een basis van een enorme low-end. Dus de Focus ESL C18 beschikt ook over een passieve reeks van dubbele 6,5-inch woofers, geschikt voor diepe basreproductie tot 50Hz. Bass-output kan worden afgestemd voor elke installatie-optie met de akoestische contourschakelaar.

The ESL C18 is an absolutely fantastic center speaker. I have Stewart StudioTek 130 electric projection screens and needed a wall mounted center channel speaker to go with my other Martin Logan speakers. This is the ultimate center speaker. Crisp, clear dialog and good off axis sound for people not dead center. I love this speaker!
In the past few months I have upgraded my center channel from the Stage X to the new Focus. Originally I had the new Focus paired with a pair of Summit X’s for a few months. I could tell right away that the new center channel was superior to the Stage X. How could I tell? It was pretty easy to tell that the new Focus just made movies or concerts sound more real and interesting then in the past. The center channel is the most important speaker in a multi-channel system so to get the best sound quality any improvements will be noticed immediately. If you look at the specs the horizontal dispersion is the same for both center channels but to me it’s wider on the new Focus. So sitting off axis works better in my room sitting arrangement – maybe it’s just that it’s longer than the Stage X. The other thing that I would like to mention is I had the Stage X sitting on top of my electronic cabinet with the back about 3” from the wall. This worked but an older different manufacturer (that I had in the past) had a way to mount the center channel directly to the wall. I always liked that look but even though the Stage X had a bracket that could be used to mount to the wall it would have been sticking out quite a bit more so I never mounted it that way. The new Focus is made to mount to a wall hanging on a very narrow bracket so really it sticks out just slightly deeper than the speaker itself. The Focus has a switch to configure the speaker exactly for direct wall mounting and if preferred not. I really like the look mounted directly to the wall. I also think because of the development work that ML did to make this even possible to wall mount (which probably was quite the trick with an electrostatic speaker) I just think the end result is very good sonically and visually. I also like the longer look of the Focus it kind of looks like the top section of a hybrid speaker on its side. It seems to match the rest of the front channels better visually. The finishing that I’m all too familiar with continues to be top notch indeed. In fact it looked so good I swapped out my Summit X’s (with stock black ash finish) to a special color 13a’s that match much more closely which I like a lot – both visually and sonically. I would also like to thank Shawn at DaVinci Media for all his help with this media room system upgrades and trade ins over the years!
Worth every penny. The Focus is one of the best sounding center channels I've ever had. It blends will with the masterpiece series speakers and previous generation MLs. I currently have this matched with my current Montis speakers and previous Theos both systems sounded excellent with movies, TV, video games, or anything surround sound. If you are on the fence about this speaker or want to upgrade from the ESL C don't even think twice, it is a night and day difference in improvement. Highly recommend.
