MartinLogan Spire Floor-standing Electrostatic Hybrid Speakers

"MartinLogan's new Spire electrostatic hybrid speakers are fabulous in my book. They play loud for their size, with great detail in the music, and the distortion profile seems to be primarily second order, which is pleasant rather than irritating as it would be if it were primarily odd-ordered."

MartinLogan Spire Hybrid Electrostatic Loudspeaker Reviewed

"The Spire's CLX influenced panel produces some of the most accurate and natural midrange and high frequencies of any MartinLogan design to date...The Spire's relatively compact size is an added bonus for the full-bodied, rich sound it produces, making the Spire ideal for medium to large venues."

—Andrew Robinson, Home Theater Review

MartinLogan Spire Loudspeakers

"MartinLogan's Spire is a visually stunning loudspeaker with a big, open sound to match. It did not, however, sound exaggerated or over the top in any way, and had few sonic compromises. If you think a hybrid electrostatic loudspeaker isn't for you, give the Spire a listen"

—Roger Kanno, SoundStage!

I bought a used pair of these 8 year old Spires. Man do they ever sing. They even do bass well. I’ve never been so impressed. Highly recommended!

They just keep getting better and better
I bought these speakers and they really were/are incredible. They changed my thoughts on audio and I have owned some very nice and expensive speakers over the years. What blows my mind is how much they can keep improving. Every small change, mod or upgrade in my system clearly comes through because these speakers have no growth ceiling. The sky is the limited. I upgraded my DAC and it was a huge upgrade, my tube amp to tube mono blocks and a huge upgrade. Then I did some smaller changes and changed out some power cables and another nice upgrade. Speaker cables, nice upgrade. I upgraded tubes and another nice upgrade. It really is amazing. When I say upgrade I had nice high-end gear to start with and when I got something a little better the speakers sound quality becomes better and better and better. They first started to image better and then the base got stronger and sharper and more focused and then they came across as more enveloping. I could go on and on and don't want to bore you as I think you get the point. Even small tweaks like a $8.00 footing mod can be clearly heard from these incredible speakers. I am telling you these are amazing speakers. I heard Summits and these are better. I heard Montis and I couldn't hear any improvement. You will need to buy CLX or Summit X to improve upon these Speakers. These are by far the best bang for buck speaker on the planet and owning them is an absolute joy because they continue to get better, better and better. They just continue to soar and I am really enjoying the ride...

Spires do it all for us
I hear everything. Great for music and movies. They are fantastic at all sound levels from quiet to ear splitting loud and are crystal clear. Go great with the Logan stage mid channel and the Logan Depth i sub woofer.

Amazing imaging.
I am amazed at the imaging, and clarity of these speakers. I was a fan of Mirage products, and the depth they provided. The Spire's easily match the depth of their sound, and have even more lower end punch due to the powered woofers. Beyond the sound, thees speakers are elegant and an art statement in themselves. It is a pleasure to walk into my family room and see and listen to these speakers. Cheers to Martin Logan.

Outstanding!
I have been on Martin Logan journey since college days. It all started with Aerius i's and Cinema Center Channel. Last year I bought a pair of Vantages. From Aerius i's, they were a great improvement. More airy, deeper bass, and the craftsmanship improved dramatically over the years. I am an somehow an oddball when it comes to music. I love classical and electronic techno music(I know, I am strange). Techno music has lots of electronic bass to test out the woofers. I saved hard and attempted my final upgrade of my life, and were the Spires. As I am typing these words, and I have been listening all day. I am in musical nirvana. I am so much happier with the Spires over Vantages. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Vantages, but now the Spires, it's another level up. Maybe it's those crossovers Martin Logan constantly talks about. Bigger panel with more surface area music seems bigger. And there's bass! Oh man, there's bass! Very articulate tight bass! I think the sealed enclosure helps big time. Personally if you can afford upto Reserve ESL series, I think Spires are THE BEST bang for the buck speakers for the money. I personally never heard the Summit X's(Way out of my range), but they have the same surface area of the panels and woofer size(Although it has 2 of them). I am guessing that it's not as jump from Vantage to Spires. I wanna hug you Martin Logan engineers! Thank you so much for such a beautiful and wonderful sounding speakers! They are a keeper!

Revelation
The Spires have proved a revelation. They adjusted in my living room\'s odd acoustics perfeclty but, more importantly, they managed to bring the best out of my Esoteric DV60/Jeff Rowland Synergy / 201\'s system. The Spires exhibit great soundstage, they are analytical but also very sweet sounding. What a great buy!

Best Speaker in the Market.
The Spire is the best speaker Martin Logan has come out. This Speaker is the Ultimate choice for Classical, Jazz. Add a Sub woofer and you have a speaker for Rock Music. My System Consists of: Spires - Speakers. CD - ERC-1 (Emotiva). Pre-Amp CPA1 Balanced (Cary Audio). Power Amps Monoblocs XPA-1 x 2 (Emotiva). Grotto-i Subwoofer (Martin Logan). Sounds like a $ 100,000 System.
