My first speakers
I walked into an MartinLogan dealer in 1987 and my life changed forever. The open and clear MartinLogan sound won me over in an instant and I bought a pair of Sequels, which had just been introduced. They brought me countless hours of enjoyment and astounded me with their imaging and clarity with ALL kinds of music. I love how they just "disappear" when you've got them set up properly and are sitting in the sweet spot. 17 years later and countless moves and equipment upgrades, I sold them and got a pair of bigger Logans! To me, nothing else will do...

Best speakers I've owned
I purchased the Sequels on October, 1988 and have never, ever regretted buying them. They've sounded perfect since they broke in. Throughout the years, though, the sound did diminish and the woofers deteriorated. I replaced the panels and woofers when ML still offered them and they sound as new as when I took them out of the box. I don't imagine ever changing speakers except if I get a pair of CLX to replace them.

Sound
All I can say is, ALLLLLLL MYYYYYYY GOD. Just got a pair used to replace my DQ 10s.. I am a audio inthusiast and thought nothing could sound as good as my DQ10s, boy was I mistaken.. Music sound like you are right there. No need for surround they do it all. They fill the whole room with music not just play it. Again unbelieveabe.. Thanks Martin Logan

Twenty Three Years of True Musical Satisfaction
I bought the original Sequels back in April of 1988 and would never think of replacing them. They are simply so CORRECT in timbre, imaging, and definition that I cannot any other transducer equalling, let alone surpassing, them. Of course, they must be driven by only the best equipment, as any flaw in the audio chain will be revealed. Although not specified, ML has stated that they are 4 ohm impedence speakers, which will make a difference if vacuum tube amplifiers with selectable output taps are used. I have them powered by both tube and transistor, and unequivocally prefer tubes, but be sure and use a power amplifier whose output impedence is less than 0.5 ohms, to avoid a high-frequency rolloff.
