Setting up your wireless network.

Created: Sep 28 2015 | Updated: Aug 24 2018

A good wireless network is the foundation of a high performance wireless audio system. A good wireless network will help not only with the performance of wireless audio systems, but also all your other network connected devices. The steps to set up a network will vary depending on the router being used. Guides for set-up can be found in the manual of your router.

Here are some tips to get the best possible performance from your wireless network:

  • Try to avoid using symbols (<>/?!@#$%^&*) in your network and device names.
  • Download a Wi-Fi scanning app like Wi-Fi Analyzer. Run the app and notice the networks it can see. You will notice that there are 11 channels that can be selected on the 2.4GHz spectrum. Try to find one that has less interference. (1, 6, and 11 do not overlap with one another).
  • A good resource can be found here on How to Find The Best Wi-Fi Channel For Your Router on Any Operating System.
  • If there is too much interference you can also try setting up a 5GHz network if your router supports this function.
